Happy Christmas. See you in 2010!(Posted: 16-12-2009)

By Chris Muggleton

Hello.

Well we have made it. 2009 is almost over.

The Christmas Cards are back from the printers but I am still yet to find time to write them. So apologies to all those who thought I had forgotten them. Think what a nice surprise it will be when you return to the office in January.

Back in January of this year, I wrote that we are fortunate to work in a fascinating and captivating industry which is constantly changing. I do hope 2009 has turned out to be much better than predicted and has laid the foundation for a great 2010.

I hope over the past year, you have found the commentary here useful and informative. The aim was to breakdown a License Agreement into its keys components so as to highlight the many pitfalls and mistakes that are often made. I think the main two points to be taken is that it is imperative to keep good records and an open dialogue between Licensee and Licensor so issues can be resolved early before they become costly mistakes.

Richard, the kind hearted soul that he is, wants me back next year, so for the time being I wish you a pleasant Christmas and a Happy New Year.

As ever do feel free to get in touch. I can be reached at chris@licensingadvice.com
