GreenLight Helps Bring the Stars Out for Tommy Hilfiger’s 25th Anniversary Celebration

Hilfiger turns to GreenLight to help license icons like Steve McQueen, Grace Kelly and Deborah Harry for global anniversary retail campaign and limited edition clothing line, The ICON Collection

LOS ANGELES (November 4, 2010) – GreenLight (www.greenlightrights.com), a global media licensing, talent negotiation and rights representation consultancy, today announced that it has helped apparel design group Tommy Hilfiger to license several icons for its global 25th anniversary celebration and retail campaign.

The campaign, called Tommy’s Global Celebration of American Style, features a 25 piece, limited edition capsule collection known as The ICON Collection, which updates Tommy’s all time favourite garments inspired by his personal idols such as Grace Kelly, Steve McQueen, Deborah Harry and others. Included are such classics as a crisp white Oxford shirt, a preppy blue blazer and a sleeveless navy pea coat.

The launch of the collection is being supported in a global retail campaign with online, PR, events and in-store promotional activities across more than 730 points of sale globally including Tommy Hilfiger retail stores and department stores such as Macy’s, El Corte Inglés and Selfridges. The campaign features art by acclaimed Australian painter Michael Zavros.

The ICON Collection exemplifies Tommy’s classic American cool, and GreenLight was instrumental in helping showcase some of the biggest influences in American fashion for Tommy’s 25th anniversary. GreenLight managed licensing of six of the seven icons for the campaign including Steve McQueen, Grace Kelly, Deborah Harry, Iggy Pop, Farrah Fawcett and Clark Gable.

“Tommy Hilfiger continues to elevate its brand with this outstanding creative concept and retail campaign that links Tommy’s apparel to fashion icons of the past half century,” said David Reeder, Vice President of GreenLight. “GreenLight worked with Tommy Hilfiger to first consider the best icons for the campaign and then handled the licensing negotiations with the various estates and talent representatives.”
