FIFI AND THE FLOWERTOTS PARTNER WITH THE

BRITISH SCIENCE ASSOCIATION

For the first time ever, Fifi and the Flowertots is partnering with the British Science Association to mark  National Science and Engineering Week from 12th – 21st March 2010.

Chapman Entertainment has designed pre-school material using Fifi as an ambassador for the National Science and Engineering Week’s 2010 campaign called ‘What on Earth’ which is encouraging children to discover their natural surroundings.

It couldn’t be simpler or more fun for kids - all they need to do is go into their garden or local park, take a snap of something they don’t recognise and upload it to www.whatonearth.org.uk. The aim is to spot, collect and identify as many species as possible over the course of the week, painting a fascinating picture of UK wildlife.

Downloadable activity materials featuring ‘What on Earth”, will appear on both the Fifi and British Science Association websites in the lead up to the Week for teachers and parents to print off for children.

Chloe Grant, Brand Manger, Chapman Entertainment comments: “This is an exciting partnership for Fifi. She is a proud ambassador of National Science and Engineering Week, and we hope this relationship will continue to blossom!”

Joanna Rooke, Manager of Regional Programmes, British Science Association, comments: “We are really pleased to have Fifi onboard with What on Earth, she’s an ideal ambassador for kids and will really be able to help them understand the importance of looking after local wildlife.”

Fifi and the Flowertots is one of the most-loved pre-school programmes on-air in Britain. The award-winning series on Five’s Milkshake! and Nick Jr, can teach children important life lessons about fun, friendship, laughter, music and working together to find solutions. Each episode celebrates the outdoors, which encourages girls and boys to develop an appreciation of being outside and discovering the world around them.
