HOLLAND’S PIES & JW LEES ANNOUNCED AS

CORONATION STREET 50TH ANNIVERSARY

BEST OF BRITISH BRANDS

Manchester, Tuesday 16 February 2010, ITV STUDIOS Global Entertainment announced today that Holland’s Pies and JW Lees will be official promotional partners for the Coronation Street 50th Anniversary Best of British Brands campaign in 2010.

This year ITV’s Coronation Street will celebrate its 50th television anniversary as the UK’s longest running primetime drama.  To coincide with this historic occasion, ITV STUDIOS Global Entertainment will bring together a portfolio of SIX promotional partners from much loved family brands from the north of England, collectively called Coronation Street’s 50th Anniversary Best of British Brands.

Holland's Pies; the North West’s best-loved supplier of pies and puds and JW Lees; the Manchester based brewery with 173 pubs across Northwest England and North Wales, will join Warburtons; the UK’s most popular baker, Imperial Leather; the brand of soaps, toiletries and healthcare product manufactured by Cussons, Typhoo; the nation’s favourite tea company and Harveys – the furniture store, which is the official UK sponsor of Coronation Street and a Best of British brands promotional partner for the anniversary year.

David Rowlands, Marketing Manager of Holland’s Pies,
said: “We’re delighted to be joining up with ITV STUDIOS and the Best of British brands for this historical year. We are made for each other. Both are steeped in tradition, North West to the core and loved by millions. In fact we make more than one million delicious Holland's Pies every week. We’ve been looking through the archives and seen Albert Tatlock tucking into one of our pies and we’d like to think that today’s characters on the best loved street in Britain would be like anyone else on any other street in the region and devoted fans of Holland’s.”

Emma Cartlidge, Marketing Manager at JW Lees said “Since launching our Coronation Street premium ale as a draught cask ale in April 2009 and launching it in 500ml glass bottles in July 2009, the response has been great. The feedback has been people love the show, and they love the Corrie beer just as much. We’ve also found females opting for it too, which is unusual and a difficult market to crack with cask ale. With the 50th anniversary this year, we’re confident as our stockists continue to grow, so too will the number of people enjoying it.”

Corine Pouvreau Miles, Director of Promotions at ITV STUDIOS Global Entertainment
said: “This is an incredibly exciting year for Coronation Street, our Best of British brand partners and the millions of Corrie fans. Coronation Street fans will be able to touch and interact with their favourite series through a unique collection of their favourite house-hold brands. I believe that the Best of British campaign is a fabulous example of promotional partnerships, creativity and strategic planning working together at its best.”

The Coronation Street 50th Anniversary Best of British Brands promotional partners have licensed the opportunity to incorporate exclusively created  Coronation Street 50th Anniversary promotional artwork and branding, which includes exclusively created style guide and collateral for usage on product, retail, outdoor, multiplatform and event marketing.

Separately from the Coronation Street 50th Anniversary promotional campaign, ITV STUDIOS Global Entertainment launched Coronation Street Romanian Holiday; an exclusively produced for DVD feature-length film and FIFTEEN major consumer product deals, which include themed Nintendo Wii and DS games, a limited edition Monopoly board-game and M&Sproduct.
