TOP SHOE DESIGNER ANGELINE TOURNIER PRODUCES BEANO CARTOON WEDGES 

 

Start Licensing inks a deal for limited edition Beano designer footwear

 

Innovative footwear designer, Angeline Tournier, has been appointed by Start Licensing, top UK licensing agency representing DC Thomson & Company Limited for The Beano and associated characters, to create a limited edition range of Beano cartoon wedges.  The shoes retail exclusively on the designer’s website (www.angelinetournier.co.uk ) and have also been on display at the London Cartoon Museum as part of a dedicated exhibition.

 

Angeline Tournier, who launched her footwear label in 2006 with the signature Betty & Veronica cartoon wedge, designed the shoes with original Beano cartoon artwork imprinted on the leather on the heel.  The wedges are available in 4 colours: blue patent leather, red leather, silver metallic leather and black patent leather and will feature spiky silver studs (to echo Dennis the Menace’s spiky shaped hair) with silver leather lining, leather sole and a 6cm heel. 

 

The range is limited to 70 pairs produced across all 4 colours, and retails at £228 per pair.  One pair of shoes has been on display at the London Cartoon Museum. The idea for limiting the range to 70 pairs came from the fact that The Beano celebrated its Seventieth anniversary last year when Angeline first started work on the range.
